Hello Parents,

So are you tired of hearing squeaking recorders around your house or music that doesn’t sound like anything you have ever heard of? WONK WONK!!!!  Well I have a great solution to the madness.  Click on the link below to see video tutorials of the 4th grade Recorder Karate song, “It’s Raining,” and the 5th grade Recorder Karate song, “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

Hopefully you will hear some happy tunes soon.

Veteran’s Day Celebration

Good Day Teasley Parents,

We are gearing up for our annual Veteran’s Day Celebration.  Our fabulous students will entertain us with song, dance and spoken word as we honor those who have served our country.  All are welcome to attend our celebration November 2nd at 6:30 in the Teasley Gym.

We would love to recognize moms, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors and family friends who have served in any branch of the military at our program.  If you know of anyone who would be a great honoree, please have them to sign up using the Google Link below.  We are hoping for a great turn out.  It will be an honor to see and shake hands of all who have served.

Deadline for honorees is November 1st.

Thank you so much for spreading the word about our program and we hope that you will join us.

Spelling Sort 5

Hi!  Spelling words were just posted in Spelling City (my mistake).  So, please note that there is an extension on the date for the spelling test.  It will be done on 11/3/17.  Students may start on the spelling words this week, but are not required to. Thanks!

A Note from Mrs. Mungin…

Hello Parents,

It is with excitement that I let you know that we have started our Recorder Karate unit.  This is an ongoing until the end of 2017.  All students in 4th and 5th grades are required to play the recorder.  By now you should have all signed and returned a Recorder Karate letter with a rubric and objectives outlined for the unit.  Students are asked to practice six days for 15 minutes.  This is how your child’s grade will be determined for this nine weeks.  Failure to turn in practice logs and test recorder songs will result in a failing grade.  Therefore, your child always has homework which are practicing their Recorder Karate songs.

Please help me assist your child with their music playing.  I know as a team the both of us can help your child achieve a level of playing that they will be very happy with.

If you have questions, first please refer to parent letter in your child’s music folder and then email me if your question is not addressed in the letter.
